The Switcheys and the Fritchwitts

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

Breaking news: The Fritchwitts are engaged to be mahweed. Ma Petite FreetZ and her doctuh Berkwitt are going to be unionized. I received the news a couple of weeks ago while on the train analyzing Google Campus crash data when I got a text from Ma Petite with a photo of a painting with a ring in it that said, It’s official I’m getting married! I wept and then I fainted.

The Fritchwitts came to visit last week and I spent most of the time holding on to the FreetZ’s arm and petting her ring finger while our Dr. Adams (2!) talked about weddings cells and cancer detection (boring). I don’t have any photos of the four of us on our double dream bicycle date to the ocean and back but here’s a photo of the Switchey’s and the crown the Berkwitt put on the FreetZ’s ring finger. Dreamboat city if you ask me.

“Thinking we could turn vegan, move to California and be neighbors again. I hear roller blading’s cool out there.” Ma Petite FreetZ on getting into grad schools in NY, Chicago, and SF

What a star.

The Switchey’s

Here I am in New Haven at the Fritchwitt’s. Like some sort of strange dream I feel like I have walked into my house that is no longer my house. It has ma petite FreetZ, and is filled with all the furniture, art, and books I lived with for two years at the Switchey’s in New York, but suddenly now there is a man named Berkwitt here and also anatomy books and volumes called “The Cell,” and “Laughing Your Way to Passing the Pediatric Boards.” They have a guest room and I asked if I could move in and they said yes, so now we can be the Switchwitts. The end.

Ma Petite FreetZ is FAMOUS!

Mama’s so proud.

Oh no 2.0

This hasn’t happened in a while. Probably because I’m so busy being famous at the San Francisco Planning Department. But sometimes when I am in a city and I’m like this city is so great and then I am like wait a second. something feels missing. and then I think Oh no. And I miss New York. And then I do that thing where I go to my flickr album and I put it on a slideshow and I watch it and I think Yes. That’s what I miss. The Friendships.

Maybe I should stop documenting things. Then I can avoid memories/feelings in general.

House of Feel and Tear* dot com amiright?

*like cry not like rip. Use it in a sentence: Fritchey can’t tear. Oh no, there I go again.

Whatever I’m going to a party where I will make new friendships and not document them.

Lauren and I are caravanning to NYC.  This was unplanned I think it is fate. I am on the superior more expensive bolt bus from Philly and she is in front of me on the Megabus from the DC.  Then we are going to brunch steal fruit from the Parker Meridien then go buy Jane Jacobs books at the Urban Center Bookstore and then in efforts to relive the past two years I am going to eat food with people I love.  Ma Sweet, SarahSweet and I are having dinner then Chantyce is buying me lunch joining me for lunch and then I’m eating chicken dinner with Peter and the FreetZ.   Know how it makes me feel?  Happy.  Here’s a song by Nina Simone called “I am Blessed.”  S’ruth.

Ok this is pretty big news.  Ma Petite FreetZ has started her own gallery.  I know.  She even made her own website.  Mama’s so proud I could cry.  Go have a looksie.   PS.  In your gallery do you have a Switchey Wing?

Happy Birthday ma Petite FreetZ!

Here’s a self-portrait of the Switchey’s in front of an ice cream freezer in Philadelphia.  We couldn’t find the Mr. Softee truck.

Date Night

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Sunday night was dim sum date night in Sunset Park.  It was hot and muggy and we were tired. The FreetZ had spent the weekend swimming with artists in the Berkshires while I had spent the weekend in denial.  Exhausting.  After two trains and five stops in four hours we finally got to King Star where the waiters misunderstood, Can you give us just two minutes, for Can you give us just two orders.  Fortunately, this worked out in our a favor.  I didn’t take pictures of the food (I know) but the FreetZ did take a photo of the aftermath.  Blend?
